  35. Machine was shipped with PROTO SCSI-04, DMAC-02, RAMSEY-04, 
  36. BUSTER-07

  38. I have had a PP&S Mercury 68040/25MHz/4MB 60ns working fine 
  39. for a long time,

  43. As it stands above I have problems with the DAT, I get errors 
  44. when backing up and it cannot be trusted. Believe me I have 
  45. been down the long, winding road of SCSI termination......
  46.  
  47. I have updated to BUSTER-11 but no change.

  49. I have tried 2 different SCSI-08 chips as they seem to come 
  50. highly recommended but they cause various problems with the 
  51. CD-ROM and I believe the best SCSI chip is the -04 PROTO in 
  52. this instance.

  54. If I change the DMAC and RAMSEY for -04/-07 respectively the 
  55. DAT is 100% but I get screen corruption with the Mercury installed. If 
  56. I take the Mercury out, no screen corruption, DAT OK but no 
  57. 68040! :-(

  61. SCSI-04 DMAC-02 RAMSEY-04 BUSTER-09 - Problems with the DAT BUSTER 
  62. -11                          - No change RAMSEY -07 DMAC-04 
  63.                  - DAT OK but now screen corruption, why? SCSI-08 
  64.                             - Lots of problems

  66.  It seems like I have a choice;

  68. Either leave the new chips in, take the '040 out and have 
  69. a working DAT..... Or leave the old chips in, have 68040 power 
  70. and no DAT.....

  72. Not much of a choice when you want a 68040 and a DAT is it?
